Welcome to the Blog
The Harvest Full Moon peaks tomorrow, Saturday September 26th at 12:49 PM EST — and it falls in Aries.
As it approaches, I want to share what I’ve been sitting with this week, why this particular full moon feels significant to me personally, and a ritual I do myself during the full moon that I think is worth trying — especially on this powerful one.
If you’re not familiar with how full moon energy actually works, here’s what happens: it isn’t just powerful at the moment of peak. The energy starts building 48 hours before and carries through 48 hours after.
Meaning, the window opened yesterday, peaks tomorrow at 12:49 PM EST, and closes Monday afternoon.
So, you have time. And the ritual I’m about to share with you below can be done anytime within that window — though tomorrow at or around 12:49 PM, or outside Saturday or Sunday night when the moon is actually visible in the sky, will feel the strongest.
I promise, you don’t need to be an astrology person for any of this to be useful. You just need to be willing to use the moon as a reason to pause, get honest with yourself, and actually listen to the whispers within you, which most of us don’t give ourselves permission to do nearly enough.
Every full moon has its own character based on what sign it falls in. This one falls in Aries. Which is significant because it is the first sign of the zodiac, a cardinal fire sign, the one that initiates, moves first, and doesn’t wait for anyone’s approval.
Simply put, if you want to understand Aries energy: it’s the part of you that knows what it wants and isn’t afraid to say so. The part that leads rather than follows. And the part that acts rather than deliberates.
At the same time, the Sun is currently sitting in Libra. Which is the sign that sits directly across from Aries, the one concerned with balance, relationships, and considering how everything affects everyone around you. (This puts the moon on what astrologers call the self-and-other axis).
In plain terms: Aries is asking what do I want? While Libra is asking, how does this affect everyone else?
That tension — between your own desire and your worry about how it lands with the people around you — is the whole theme of this moon.
And honestly, for me, this one lands almost too on the nose. Because that’s the exact fear versus intuition line I come back to in everything I work through, and everything I help my clients work through. And here it is, showing up in the sky.
As its name suggests, harvesting isn’t passive. You don’t just sit near the field and hope the crop finds its way inside. You have to be present, recognize what’s ripe, reach for it, and bring it home. This full moon is asking you to admit that after a full season of tending something, you actually want it. And to stop asking the room for permission first.
This is something I do myself around the full moon and have found genuinely valuable. But please, take what resonates with you and leave what doesn’t. And if any part of it feels like too much, start with just the journaling prompts at the end.
What you need: 20 to 30 minutes. A candle. Your journal. A pen. Outside if you can, or near a window where you can sense the moon. That’s all!
Step One — Get Truly Into the Present Moment
There is no technique required here. Sit where you can be with the moon. Or with the sky, even if clouds are covering it. Feel your feet on the ground. Breathe until your shoulders come down from your ears. And get yourself into the present moment.
The point here isn’t to empty your mind. It’s to stop performing for anyone, including yourself. Just be there for a moment, without judging yourself or anything else, before you do anything else.
Step Two — The Harvest
Write down what you actually grew this year.
I’m not talking about goals you set in January or your vision board intentions. Write down what actually came in. What developed. What you built even if no one else was watching.
Be specific. Be honest. You never have to share this with anyone. So include the things nobody saw or clapped for. Be proud of the hard conversations you finally had, the quiet discipline that nobody saw, or maybe a thing you finished that you haven’t told anyone about yet. The version of yourself that you became in the hard seasons.
Then, when you’re done, read it out loud to the moon.
Yes, it is important to say it out loud.
Step Three — The Cut
Then, take a separate piece of paper. (This one isn’t going in your journal).
Write what you’re finished with. Be blunt and brutally honest. Aries doesn’t do gentle release. Let go of habits, people, places, situations, whatever you are being called to release, do it and mean it.
For example, maybe you will let go of the habit of shrinking in rooms where you should be speaking. Or the habit of waiting to be chosen instead of choosing yourself. Maybe you’re finally ready to set a much-needed boundary with that family member or friend. Maybe you’re ready to look for a new job where you feel more appreciated.
Whatever it is, write it plainly but clearly.
Then burn it, (safely of course), in a firepit or a bowl. If you don’t want to burn it, you can tear it into pieces and bury it in the garden or the earth somewhere. Something physical. The body needs to witness the decision and the finality of destroying it sends the message clearly that you are letting go. Reading it and closing your journal isn’t the same thing.
Step Four — The Want
Honestly, this is the one that might feel the most uncomfortable. Which is exactly why it matters so much.
You only get one sentence. Present tense. And the absolutely most honest you can be.
“I want ________”.
Do not hedge on this. This is not would be nice, what would be reasonable, what makes sense given everything going on. This is what you actually want. Regardless of all other factors.
Once you write it, say it out loud.
Then sit with how uncomfortable that is, because it probably will be. That discomfort is the Libra side of you worrying about what it costs other people. What they’ll think. Whether you deserve it. Whether it’s too much.
If it comes up, notice it. Don’t just obey it.
Step Five — The Action
This is where most full moon rituals stop. And it’s exactly why most of them don’t actually change anything.
Aries energy without motion is just restlessness. It needs somewhere to go.
So before you go inside and blow out the candle, name one concrete action you will take within the next 48 hours that moves you toward what you just claimed. Not eventually. Within 48 hours.
Ask the question. Send the email. Book the thing. Say the thing you’ve not been saying. Put it in your calendar right now, before you close the journal. And then do it.
Intuition that never becomes action is just a nice feeling. But it doesn’t do anything. If you follow my work, you know this better than anyone.
You can’t change anything at all without taking action.
One of the most useful things I can tell you about working with full moon energy, (and it’s especially true for an Aries moon) is that a full moon will make almost everything feel urgent. Decisions that have been sitting quietly for months will suddenly feel like they need to happen tonight. Impulses that have been waiting in the background will surface loudly and insist they’re the most important thing.
Not all of that is intuition. Some of it is just chaos.
Here’s the test I use to tell the difference: sleep on the big ones. The genuine whisper will still be there the next morning — quiet, steady, still pointing in the same direction. The flare-up usually won’t. Or it will look different in the morning light. That’s a pretty reliable way to tell the difference between what your intuition is actually saying and what the energy of the moon is amplifying past its real size.
Trust the ones that are still there when the fire settles.
These are for after the ritual, or instead of it if the ritual feels like too much for you this weekend. Sit with whichever one pulls at you most.
There is some version of you that didn’t exist a year ago. In some capacity, some understanding, some quiet knowing that you built in the doing of it.
And if there’s a whisper that’s been trying to reach you, this might be the night you finally stop waiting for permission and listen to it. 🌕
If this resonated and you want a structured path for doing this kind of inner work consistently — not just at the full moon but every day — my free Stop Searching & Start Feeling workbook is a good place to start.
