Welcome to the Blog
We’ve all been there. That uncomfortable tension between wanting financial abundance while simultaneously feeling like somehow having it might conflict with your spiritual values. Many spiritually minded people find themselves caught in this paradox around money mindset. Maybe they’re writing affirmations about abundance while secretly feeling unworthy of it, or pursuing money goals that don’t quite align with their deeper purpose.
And, this can feel very contradicting, and can be frustrating when you are trying to do everything right, but, you’re not yet seeing results.
Here’s what I’ve discovered through my own journey and working with clients through these mindset blocks around money…
The problem isn’t that you want money.
The problem is that some part of you is misaligned between what you say you want and what you actually believe.
Because what you believe in is what creates your vibration. And your vibration is what creates your reality.
So, when your subconscious mind (where your true vibrations live) is telling a completely different story from your conscious affirmations, you end up feeling stuck.
Here’s how to get out of it.
We all have a money mindset. Though whether it’s a healthy one, or an unhealthy one varies–we all have one.
And it comes down to the stories we tell ourselves about money. The stories we tell ourselves create our beliefs, and our beliefs create our vibration, which determines what we get. We are designed in a think, feel, act system.
And when we learn how to use this system to our benefit, we can change our lives.
My life completely changed when my mindset around money did. When I realized that I had to feel worthy of abundance in order to bring it into my life, I began focusing on my frequency instead of my outside circumstances and everything that was stuck finally began to work.
This realization changed everything for me–You can write down abundance affirmations all day long, but if you’re not feeling worthy of that abundance deep inside, or don’t believe you can get it, you’re fighting an uphill battle that you can never win until you change your mindset itself. Because the Universe doesn’t respond to your words—it responds to your energetic vibrational frequency.
So, your mindset has to be in alignment with your vibration. Meaning, whatever you’re speaking, you need to be thinking and feeling the same thing. If there’s a disconnect, guess which one wins? It will be your deeper, subconscious programming every single time.
If this sounds intimidating to tackle, I promise it isn’t. And I’m going to share a powerful technique I use when I encounter this kind of misalignment.
When those familiar feelings of doubt, imposter syndrome, or unworthiness creep in, immediately reframe them to the past tense. For example, “Remember when I had that debt?” or “Remember when I was just starting out and had no idea what I was doing?” or “Remember when I finally figured it all out?” These things might not have actually happened in the past. In fact, they may not have even happened yet in the present. But putting yourself into the future, reflecting on your problems from a place where you have already overcome them, gives you your power back! And it creates a money mindset that is strong, confident, and abundant. Of course, like anything else, it’s not a one-and-done fix. It will take daily work, like any recovery process. You have to consistently choose to change your vibration from the inside out. But you can!
Dr. David R. Hawkins created something called the Map of Consciousness that beautifully illustrates this concept. Picture it like a skyscraper: shame and guilt live in the basement, while enlightenment occupies the penthouse. Most of us fluctuate somewhere in the middle floors throughout our day.
Even though we would all like to, you can’t jump from the basement to the penthouse overnight. What you can do is move from shame to guilt, from guilt to apathy, from apathy to grief, and slowly work your way up from wherever you’re at. Each step along the way matters, and acknowledging where you are right now is the first step toward shifting higher.
When you’re vibing in the penthouse (joy, love, peace), abundance flows naturally. When you’re stuck in the basement (shame, guilt, fear), you’re energetically pushing money away. So, have a look at this chart and determine where you’re at right now. Which paradigm are you in? What can you do to shift at least one level up today?
Sometimes the most powerful shifts come from the simplest practices. When I need to raise my vibration quickly, I have a few go-to techniques:
#1 Dance it out.
I love to just put on some fun music and dance around. Find some music that makes you feel alive and dance for five minutes. I don’t care if you think you can’t dance—this isn’t about looking good. It’s about moving energy through your body and shifting your state.
#2 Laugh.
This might sound silly, but just start laughing about absolutely nothing. I use this technique all the time, even when taking photos with friends and family. By telling them to look at each other and laugh like someone just told the best joke ever–what starts as fake laughter quickly becomes real, and the energy shift is immediate.
#3 Practice future gratitude.
Here’s something most people miss: you can be grateful for things that haven’t happened yet! So, write down ten things you’re grateful for—current and future. Be grateful for that future home you’re going to have. Envision it in detail. What does it look like? How does it feel to walk through those rooms?
This technique is what Dr. Joe Vitale calls the “feel it real” effect. You’re putting yourself energetically in that future reality, and that raises your vibration to match what you want to attract. Then, it can start making its way to you.
Your relationship with spending money reveals everything about your money mindset and vibration. I learned this lesson watching different parents at checkout counters with their children. One parent sets no expectations, the child throws a tantrum for candy, and eventually the parent gives in just to stop the noise. Another parent prepares their child before entering the store. They set expectations with a list of things they will buy, making sure the child knows that they may look at things they like but will not be buying them.
We do the same thing with ourselves as adults. We walk into Target (or any store) without intention and leave with $50 worth of stuff we didn’t plan to buy.
The solution? Just like that parent–set expectations before you shop, just like you would with a child. Tell yourself: “This is my list. This is what I’m buying today.” When you see something tempting, acknowledge it, but stick to your intention.
Here’s a reality check that might sting: audit your subscriptions. How many apps, services, or memberships are you paying for that you forgot about? Those little $5, $10, $15 monthly charges add up to hundreds of dollars a year. Each forgotten subscription is energy you’re unconsciously sending out without intention.
This one might sound “woo-woo” to some of you, but bear with me because it works. Keep a money jar where you regularly drop in change and small bills. This simple practice sends a message to the universe that money is fluid—it comes and goes, flows in and out of your life naturally. And it is always around and accessible to you.
I keep a money jar of bills and coins, and when it gets full, I take it to the bank. When I cash it in, I always leave something in it. There’s always money flowing through my space, never completely empty, but never hoarded either.
If you get a raise or unexpected money, take a portion of what you’re not used to having and save it immediately. If you can manage 10% of every paycheck, you’re building a foundation for financial freedom while training yourself to live below your means.
This isn’t about deprivation—it’s about creating energetic space for more to flow in.
One of the most powerful ways to align your spiritual values with money is through conscious giving. And this doesn’t have to be monetary either—you can give your time, resources, or skills.
I feel a sense of purpose when I donate my time or money to organizations that matter to me. I support the Boys & Girls Club, where I taught yoga classes to energetic kids who could barely sit still on their mats, and Last Paw Rescue, which recently took in dogs from Louisiana and needed support.
When you give—whether it’s money, time, or resources—you’re participating in the flow of abundance. You’re demonstrating trust that there’s enough to go around, and that energy comes back to you multiplied.
This is what Ralph Waldo Emerson called the Law of Compensation—the spiritual principle that whatever you put out into the world comes back to you in equal measure. It’s not at all about giving to get, but about understanding that generosity creates a natural flow of abundance for everyone involved. When I taught those yoga classes to kids who could barely sit still, I wasn’t expecting anything in return. But that act of service opened doors I never could have imagined and brought opportunities that aligned perfectly with my purpose.
Here’s something most financial advice misses entirely…
The toxic emotions you carry affect your money flow. Meaning, when you’re holding onto jealousy, hatred, resentment, or anger, you’re literally carrying heavy, low-vibration energy in your body.
That energy takes up space where abundance could live.
One of the ways I deal with this is by practicing sending love and light to people who I’m struggling with. This isn’t about them—it’s about clearing my own energetic field. When you release toxic emotions, you create space for prosperity to flow in.
This is inner work that directly impacts your outer financial reality. It’s important.
Financial freedom isn’t just about having money—it’s also about having the time and energy to focus on what matters most to you. When I achieved financial stability, and freedom from debt, I suddenly had the space to work on projects I truly cared about, like writing my book about listening to your intuitive whispers, coming out soon!
Without financial stress consuming my mental energy, I could invest in my growth, hire help where I needed it, and follow my creative impulses. Because I had mastered my money mindset I had created in my life the luxury of figuring out what I actually wanted, rather than just drifting, or scrambling to survive.
And this is what having a sacred money mindset really means. It’s the ability to use financial abundance as a tool for spiritual purpose and creative expression.
Creating a sacred relationship with money isn’t about perfection—it’s about daily practice and gradual alignment. To strengthen your money mindset, start with one technique that resonates with you. Maybe it’s the money jar, maybe it’s auditing your subscriptions, or maybe it’s practicing future gratitude.
Remember, changing your vibration around money is like any recovery process. It requires consistent, daily attention. Some days, you’ll feel abundant and aligned. Other days, you’ll catch yourself in scarcity thinking. Both are normal.
The goal isn’t to never have money fears again—it’s to notice them more quickly and have tools to shift back into alignment.
When your spiritual values and your financial choices are working together instead of against each other, money becomes a force for good in your life and in the world. It becomes a way to serve, to create, to contribute, and to live out your deeper purpose.
